Statement in the Newsletter relating to the green covered step left at Terry ChristensenÕs camper at the August campout -  This was something that went with his motorhome, but he had never received it from the Neiswenders.  He now has a step that helps his Dad get up in his camper that he was making good use of this weekend.

Announcements:

Sandy & Jack thanked everyone for their thoughts, prayers and sympathy cards in the death of SandyÕs Mom.

Mary Freeman is in the hospital – Room 758 at Stormont Vail.  Leonard stated she has congestive heart problems.  Our thoughts and prayers are with Mary.

Wilma Fader is still in Rehab and her family stated she will be going home sometime this next week.

Sandy reported that the McCulloughÕs have a new granddaughter.  Congratulations!!

The SmallÕs are in North Carolina with a new grandson. Congratulations!!

Joyce received an e-mail from the StovallÕs when she returned home and Marvin stated that Mina had her 2nd cataract surgery this last Thursday.  Had the other eye done about two weeks ago.  Also, that she has already been to Mayo Clinic and received a clean bill of health.  Changed one of her meds and added one, but he said she is doing fine.  They are hoping to camp next weekend.

Old Business: None

New Business: September birthdays & anniversaries were recognized.

Elmer thanked Russ and all the others who jumped in and helped with the cooking of the chicken and the potatoes.  A thank was also given to Elmer for all the work he put into preparing and cooking the chicken.  It was delicious and everyone enjoyed it very much.

Elmer announced that the next campout will be next weekend, September 30th

October 2nd at Melvern Lake,  Outlet Area.   Everyone is to cook their own chili for Saturday evening.  The chili will be put together in the large cast iron pot.

Families A-M bring a dessert, N-Z bring a side dish.  We have the Shelter House for Saturday.  Will eat at 5:00 PM.  On Friday night, there will be popcorn cooked in the cast iron kettle and ÒscaryÓ Halloween movies.  Everyone is asked to dress up in their Halloween costumes for the traditional Halloween parade.  Remember to bring treats for the little ones.  Refer to ÒOctober Campout infoÓ from Dawnda for additional information on activities going on.

Russ Thomann presented the prestigious ÒGoof AwardÓ to Ray & Norma Remp who happened to lock their camper keys in their camper at the August campout.  I guess it was a sight to see Bill Detherage retrieving their keys by climbing in the window with his legs sticking outside the window.  Sure hope Donna got a picture of that for the Goof Award Board.  Everyone needs to be on the lookout for the next recipient.  It usually does not take too long to find that person.

If anyone has the big silver coffee pot, please bring it to the October campout next weekend.

Church service was held at 9:00 AM on Sunday morning by Chaplain Russ.

Motion was made and approved to adjourn.  Meeting adjourned at 6:50 PM.

News from Betty:

I asked Genevieve Collins for an update on Bernie Bower and she called this afternoon with the news that Bernie was admitted to Stormont Vail Hospital.  His throat was severely swollen, making it hard for him to breathe.  They thought it was possible that he was allergic to the medicine he was taking.  He is in Room 781.

Mary Freeman is in Stormont Vail in Room 758.  I have not heard any news from her today.

Wilma Fader is still at Lexington Park Rehab, but plans are that she will be able to go back to her apartment the end of this week.  She has been away from her home for about two months and is looking forward to returning home.

This is the update I have on the sick at this time.

Great chicken and potatoes and all the other dishes Saturday night.  Thanks cooks!
