TOPEKS CAMPING CLUB MINUTES
Saturday May 20th, 2011
 Clinton Lake – Cedar Ridge, Clinton, KS


Opening - Meeting was called to order by President Elmer Burnett.

 

Roll Call - By Secretary Joyce A. Neiswender with 17 families present –

Visitors included Tommy Sleed, friend of Chelsea Bower.


Treasurer Report - In the absence of our Treasurer Chuck, Secretary Joyce A. Neiswender read the TreasurerŐs Report (which was the same as previous month):

                                                               $990.81 – Checking

                                                                $107.03 – Petty Cash

                                                              $1,097.84 – Total


Announcements - Elmer announced this may be a short meeting with the storms moving in fast.  Dorothy Bower announced that their grandson Bryson graduated from KU with a MasterŐs Degree in Psychology and is now working at the Juvenile Detention Center in Topeka.


Old Business - None

New Business - Elmer announced that the next campout will be June 24, 25 and 26 at Melvern Outlet Area and we will be eating early on Saturday – 1:30 PM – Hamburgers – so that everyone can go into Melvern and enjoy the parade.  Elmer will be marching in the parade – a long time tradition of his family.

 

Discussion was held whether or not to reserve the shelter house.  A motion was made and approved to rent the shelter house.  Elmer will get in touch with Treasurer Chuck to make these reservations.

 

June birthdays & anniversaries include:

Birthdays:  June 6 – Sandy Sullivan; June 9 – Chuck Hoffmesiter; June 21 – Jim Bower; June 23 – Genevieve Collins; June 25 – Wilbur LaRue; June 29 – Bob Small.

Anniversaries: June 17 – Terry & Kristin Christensen;

 

It was nice to see the LaRueŐs back camping with us. 

 

Chaplain Russ stated we would have church service at 9:00 am on Sunday; however, due to the expected bad weather on Saturday evening, church was not held.

 

Due to the expected bad weather headed our way, a quick otion was made and approved to adjourn.  Meeting adjourned at 6:05 PM.

We will be eating hamburgers at 1:30 PM

Hamburgers will be brought by Russ and the club will provide buns and condiments.  A-M bring a side dish ---- N-Z bring desserts.
