Opening: Meeting was called to order by President Elmer Burnett

at 1:15 p.m.

Roll Call: By Secretary Joyce Neiswender with 23 families answering.

Guests: No Guests Attended.

Treasurer Report: Treasurer Chuck Hoffmeister reported:

Checking: $542.99

Petty Cash $107.03

Total $650.02

Announcements: Terry Christensen asked for members to get any changes to the membership list to him before the final copy is made.

Genevieve reported that Rex Collins is not doing too well. He has congestive heart problems and has been receiving transfusions. Bernie Bower is scheduled for back surgery on Monday, January 23rd. Russ Thomann is scheduled for knee surgery on December 6th at Stormont-Vail. Chuck Hoffmeister is having heart problems, but is “hanging in there.” Harrison Seckar is scheduled for head surgery – stretching skin for grafting. Wilma Fader has a small tumor in her colon and is taking chemo at home. Here immune system is low and she is also having eye problems. Joyce Neiswender is scheduled for cataract surgery in January.

Fred & Beverly Johnson are headed South for Texas in December.

Becky Tomlinson asked if anyone had old jeans they do not want, she would like to have them to use for making jean quilts.

News from Betty:

Bernie Bower had one hour back surgery a week ago today (Monday).  He is now in Rehab.  If you care to send a card, it would be better to send it to his home as it is not known when he will come home but reported that he is getting along well.  His home address is:  2029 NW Winter, Topeka  66608-1958. 

I talked with an Eastern Star member last night that know Chuck and Donna Hoffmeister.  They said that Donna is in the hospital and has been there for a week and they thought that Chuck had also had a short hospital stay recently.  Cards can reach them at:  219 SE 46th, Topeka 66609.

I had an email for Joyce Neiswender this morning telling me that she had taken Dorothy Bower to the hospital last night with breathing and asthma problems. She had also been taken to the ER last week with the same problem, but they did not keep her at that time.  The Bowers address is:  2029 NW Winter, Topeka  66608-1958.

I received an email from Marvin and Mina Stovall this morning.  They are in Arizona and have been offered a job at Mount Lemmon in Tucson from April 15 - October 15, so they will probably stay in Arizona for a while.  We will miss them at the campouts this summer.

Old Business - None

New Business: Everyone enjoyed great food ordering off the menu, then our traditional gift exchange with $3.00 gifts that started with the letter “T.” Each member opened their gift and showed the group what they received. Children in attendance received gifts. A very nice assortment of toys was collected for Toys for Tots. A very nice time was had by all in attendance.

For those who were not present at the December meeting, Topeks dues are due: $12.50 for singles; $25.00 for couples or families.

November and December birthdays and anniversaries were recognized.

Elmer asked members for suggestions on camping sites in 2012. The Board will be meeting to put together a list of proposed campsites for approval by the club members.

Next meeting will be Sunday, February 26th at Reeds Sports Bar at 29th and Croco Road at 1:00 PM – Plan to order off the menu.

Motion made and approved to adjourn. Meeting adjourned at 1:50 PM - Christmas Greetings was given to all our members as we left Reeds.
