Sunday April 3rd, 2011
 ReedŐs Bar and Grill - Topeka, Kansas


Opening - Meeting was called to order by President Elmer Burnett.

 

Roll Call - Taken by Secretary Joyce A. Neiswender with 25 families present.

Visitors included a friend of Zack Burnett, Noah.

Treasurer Report - Chuck Hoffmeister gave the TreasurerŐs report:         

$990.81 - Checking

                                                                        $107.03 - Petty cash

                                                                      $1097.84 – Total


Announcements - Elmer reported that his grandson, NickŐs & JamieŐs son Tyler, was in the hospital with respiratory problems and hopes to get out of the hospital on Monday. Elmer also reported that Ann LaRue fell and had to have stitches in her lip.

 

Kari Seckar thanked everyone for the calls and cards when Harrison was born.

 

Robert Small reported he had very good news from his last CT scan and doesnŐt have to see his doctor for another 4 months. 

 

Elmer reminded everyone that you can now reserve spots at the Outlet Area at Pomona for our September campout.  Wise to make these early reservations as the spots go early.


Old Business - None

New Business - Elmer reminded everyone that the April campout would be April 15 - 17 because of Easter being on our regular campout.  It will be at the Outlet Area at Melvern, Loop B.  Chuck has reserved the Shelter House across the road from this area.  It will be a Crockpot Dinner and we will eat at 5:30 PM.

 

Elmer wondered if the members would be interested in having our Christmas Party at ReedŐs Bar and Grill (which is free) rather than renting the Club House where we have been having it.  He stated everyone can order what they want, no one would have to purchase, haul in food, make coffee etc.  After some discussion, motion was made and passed that we schedule the two rooms here at Reeds for our Christmas dinner on Sunday, December 4th.  Elmer checked with the management and reserved this date for our Christmas party.  We will order from the menu.

 

A big Ňthank youÓ to Chuck for all the work he did in reserving the Club House in yearŐs past and for making the reservations for the Shelters we will be using this summer.

 

Elmer mentioned that he was still needing a Chaplain for the campouts.  After a bit of arm twisting, Russ Thomann agreed to be our Chaplain and everyone gave him a hand of applause for accepting this job.  We all enjoy the message and jokes that Russ brings to us.
